WINMED Hosts Seminar “The Solution for Blood Safety with INTERCEPT Blood System (Pathogen Inactivation)” to Advance Blood Safety Knowledge

WINMED hosted the seminar “The Solution for Blood Safety with INTERCEPT Blood System (Pathogen Inactivation)” on 11 April 2026 to update knowledge and promote awareness of blood safety, with a focus on the application of advanced medical technology to reduce transfusion-related risks.

The seminar highlighted the implementation of the INTERCEPT Blood System developed by Cerus Corporation in the Pathogen Inactivation (PI) process, an innovative technology designed to reduce the risk of transfusion-transmitted pathogens in blood components, thereby enhancing standards in transfusion medicine and patient safety.

The program featured comprehensive presentations on key topics, including transfusion-associated risks, INTERCEPT technology for platelets and plasma, the system’s mechanism of action, concepts and processes of Pathogen Inactivation (PI), as well as its benefits and safety in clinical applications.

The seminar was held at Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital and attracted strong interest from healthcare professionals and medical experts who actively participated in knowledge-sharing and discussions on innovations in blood safety.

WINMED remains committed to supporting advanced medical technologies that contribute to improving blood safety standards and enhancing sustainable patient care outcomes.
